Wet and Windy Wednesday 29/6/2016

Another terrible attack in Istanbul, so many innocent people killed and maimed, and traumatized, and the aftermath for their loved ones.  It really makes one feel nervous about travelling abroad, it could happen anywhere.  Rest in peace those who lost their lives.

Today was a day that I took it easy, didn't go to college, just did some work at home and did the grocery shopping and bits and pieces that were outstanding for a while.

A light dinner of salad, tuna and brown bread, trying to trim down for a wedding in August.  Want to have an early night as slept badly last night.

Today is Tuesday

Yes indeed Tuesday already and almost over as well.  Spent today in the library, left at 3.40 so a long day today, didn't get a lot accomplished either but I shall keep plugging away at this research thesis.  Home and did a bit of tidying up.  A little bit :)  Had dd2 on the whats app again saying that she's homesick so trying to cheer her up and enjoy the time she has in Canada, she will be home again before she knows and then she will realise she should have appreciated her time away a little better.  Ah well when I was 20 I would probably have been the same, especially when the boyfriend is here in Ireland.  My older self would have a different view on it, but that's wisdom of age.

Going out tonight meeting my best buddy for a meal and a few vinos, it was her birthday at the start of the month and we never celebrated it.  Looking forward to that, have to take it easy though as will be up in the morning early to get to library and she has work as well, so it won't be a late one.

image is from google images of a westie pup, I have a westie but he's quite old now, still a cutie tho.  AWWWWW

Sunny Monday 27/6/2016

At last the sun is shining today.  We have had such a wet summer so far its' awfully depressing.  Ah well what can you do but enjoy it when its' there.  Had burgers for dins with salad and baby pots.  Today was a busy one in the library on the thesis trail but nothing much to report, didn't find any gems that I was mining for.  Keep finding books that I think will be the 'one' that will make the difference to my research but so far the search goes on.

Tonight will not be going near the books.  Will bring the doggie for a walk and might have a vino before bed.

Todays image is from google and a beautiful butterfly, I love butterflies, but sadly we don't see many around here despite our lovely patio.  We do have a lot of bees though which is a good sign.  Ano
ther image this time a bee-hero.

Ireland v France and all that jazz...............

Allez les Verts :) Best of luck to the Irish football team in the Euros today against France.  Its currently just the start of the second half and Ireland are leading 1-0 thanks to a penalty in the first minute.  Its gonna be a long 45 mins, so we need to get another goal to be safer.

Up early this am chatting to DD2 on Whatsapp from Vancouver, she is missing home and the boyfriend but is off to Toronto on Friday to meet up with family (her aunt and 3 cousins and their spouses) so she will be spoiled rotten.  She is working for most of the week as well prior to leaving so that will keep her occupied with no time to miss anyone or anything.

Got about 4 hours done on the thesis this morning so am relaxing now and not feeling guilty.  I will be up and at it in the morning in UCD from 9-2 so onwards and upwards.  Tonight will be taking it easy with a sunday roast, potatoes, carrots and mushrooms, pork streak and gravy. Nom Nom.

Pics from dog walk yesterday in my local village of Donnybrook, local shop sells garden furniture and stuff.......... and animals, they had them all in a line, very cute.

Its been a while..............but I'm back :)

It's hard to believe how long it has been since I last posted.  Its now almost a year since I last wrote on here and the date is significant this year August 12th as that's the date this year that my MA Dissertation is due and I have been working on it non stop for the last 6 weeks.  I have been very busy working as well as completing the second year of my MA so its been very hectic at times, and I honestly felt sometimes that I wouldn't be able to get everything done, but thankfully the job has now finished for the summer, and I was able to get stuck into the Dissertation which is on Women and Displacement in Early Modern Seventeenth Century Ireland and how they used their agency to survive and thrive.  Whew when its written down it looks difficult enough.  I'm up to 13,000 words so far, only another 7,000 to go..........lol.

On top of work and MA family life has been eventful, with OH ending up in hospital about 6 weeks ago for potentially life changing eye surgery, thankfully it went well and his eyesight is fully back to normal.  DD2 is in Vancouver for 3 months on a working holiday and loving it.  DS is in France, where he has been living for the last 7 years, and DD1 has recently been made redundant but got a new permanent job and started this week so its all happening.

Feeling sad that the MA is finishing as I really enjoy college but I have plans for the future that I will reveal shortly when they are finalised or at least in motion............

Namaste, its good to be back writing.  Picture is from google images.  Idea for a garden room, one of my longer term goals..........
